CROSSING PLACES" - Presentation workshop
Saturday 24th May, h 5:00 Fiera del Levante - Bari
XIIIth Biennial of Young Artists from Europe and the Mediterranean - Puglia 2008
This workshop is the follow-up of an initiative carried out by Arci National financed under the programme Culture 2000 - "In the dark. For those who can't see art". The "In the dark" project started from the idea that not being able to see is not a misfortune but can be an asset, in the sense that blindness is a different way of seeing and expressing things and the world. The new initiative "Crossing places" focus on the link between people and places, body and space, body and territory, giving voice to unpublished narrations of spaces. "The places" and the "local cultural circuits", the active participation of citizen are the main elements of our proposal and the activities will be developed on these two axis.
Activities: 27 artists from different countries (Italy, Spain, France, Malta, Poland, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Belgium) - belonging to different fields of performing arts: Music, Literature and Body Espression.
The overall objective of the project is to find a an innovative way to "tell the cities " from different points of view - different arts, cultures, perceptions - through performing arts and the work of different artists coming from different countries.
The artists tell the non-visual "story" of Barcelona, Malta and Grasse to the inhabitants of Milano, Catania and Terni in other and different contexts, of the "places crossed".
The performances moved:
Thessaloniki 24 - 30 April 2007
Barecelona-Milano 3 -15 June 2007
Malta-Catania 11 - 23 July 2007
Grasse-Terni 18 - 24 - 30 September 2007
